EEG Machine Price in India (2026): 24, 32 & 64 Channel Compared

Buying an EEG machine is one of the biggest decisions a neurology department or private clinic makes. Prices in India vary a lot, so the useful question is what you get for each level of spend. This guide uses current published prices from our own catalogue to show where the money goes.

What drives the price of an EEG machine?

Channel count. A 24 channel system covers the standard 10-20 montage with spare channels for ECG, EOG or respiration. A 32 channel system gives more polygraphic channels and room to grow. A 64 channel system is for high-density recording, epilepsy surgery work-ups and research.

Video. Video EEG adds a camera, synchronisation software and usually a second monitor. It costs more, but it changes the diagnosis in many cases because clinicians can see what the patient was doing during an EEG event.

Software modules. Brain mapping, FFT, CSA/DSA displays, spike detection and report templates are often bundled. Check which modules come standard.

Workstation and accessories. Laptops, desktop PCs, printers, electrode caps in several sizes, photic stimulators and trolleys can add 15–30% to the base price.

Hidden costs to plan for

  • Electrodes and consumables. Disc electrodes, paste, abrasive gel and caps wear out and need budgeting every year.
  • Power protection. An online UPS protects the amplifier and the PC and reduces mains noise in the recording.
  • Annual maintenance. After the 1-year warranty, consider an AMC or CMC. See our guide to AMC and CMC for medical equipment.
  • Room preparation. A quiet room, a comfortable bed or recliner and proper earthing all improve the quality of recordings.

Which EEG should you buy?

Buying tips

  1. Compare quotations on the same basis (ex-GST vs incl. GST).
  2. Ask for a live demo on your own premises if possible.
  3. Confirm the warranty period and the local service response time.
  4. Check that the software exports EDF or standard formats.
  5. Government buyers can procure through GeM. RS Enterprises is a GeM registered seller.
